Can I burn within the City Limits?
There is no open burning allowed within the City Limits; this is a State mandated law. Cumberland County residents should contact the County Fire Marshal’s Office at 678-7688.
Persons wishing to obtain a Commercial Burning Permit within the City limits should contact the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources at 433-3300.

Call Fire Prevention at 433-1730.

How can I become a firefighter with the Fayetteville Fire Department?
You have to be 19 years of age to become a firefighter. Questions about becoming a firefighter and what that entails should be directed to the Training Division at 433-1580. To submit an application, contact Human Resource Development at 433-1635.

Where do I pick up a copy of a fire report?
If you live within the City Limits, you can go to the Fire Department Administration Office, Third Floor, City Hall from 8 am-5 pm Monday-Friday.

The fire hydrant is flowing on my street. Who do I call to take care of this?
Contact PWC at 223-4715 during normal business hours or 678-7400 after hours.

I have moved into the City and my insurance company needs to know how many miles it is to the nearest fire station and where the fire hydrant is located.
The Fayetteville Fire Department's insurance rating is Class 2. Exact mileage from your house to the station can be determined by physically driving your vehicle to the station. If you need an estimate, call the station that responds to your respective area. To determine which station responds to your area, click on the Fire Stations link and look for your street on the map.
