Code Enforcement

plans reviewCode Enforcement is a major responsibility within the Fire Prevention Division.  Enforcement is guided through the use of the most current version of the North Carolina State Fire Code.  There are several types of inspections that are handled by the Division.  In addition to existing construction, listed below are some other inspection/services that are handled.

  • Plans review for new construction
  • A.L.E. Inspections
  • School and day care inspections
  • Foster home inspections (when requested)
  • Group home inspections
  • Above and Under ground tank installations and removals
  • Night Inspections
  • Assist with fire/evacuation drills
  • Receive and respond to citizen complaints and inquiries
